As part of the European Commission’s Lifelong Learning Programme, University of Udine is the coordinator in a learning exchange project with the Centre Mapping for Change http://www.mappingforchange.org.uk/ of tne University College in London(UK) and the University of Oulu (Finland) http://www.oulu.fi/english/.
The project focuses on specific educational and community issues in the field of social housing, where people are at risk of segregation and social exclusion. The aim is to explore which kind of contribution informal learning, in the context of social housing, could give to reinforce social cohesion, active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, gender equality and personal fulfilment.
Each of the project partners will focus on a specific informal learning approach (community mapping, visual anthropology, identity building and informal citizenship education) to meet the project aims and objective.
Mobility activities to partner’s sites have been organised as well as an electronic platform to develop a specific curriculum for adult educators, to exchange experiences and share achievements. The kick-off meeting took place in December 2011 at the University of Udine. Partners met in London in May 2012 and we visited Finland in September 2012. Furthermore, a final meeting with stakeholders will be organised in Udine at the end of the project in order to validate and disseminate the final results.
